Surkhet. 29 World Tribal Day is also celebrated today in Birendranagar, the capital of Karnali province. It was celebrated by the District Coordination Council of Nepal Tribal Tribes Federation Surkhet with the participation of various tribal tribal organizations.
The chief guest of the program, Speaker of the Karnal Pradesh Assembly, Nanda Gurung, said that tribals are communities with their own traditions, customs, cultural identity and distinct social structure, written or unwritten history. He said, “It is necessary to protect the rights given to the indigenous peoples by the law in practice. In order to achieve the national aspiration of a prosperous Nepal and a happy Nepali, since the state’s policy is to ensure equal opportunities and justice for all communities, I believe that access and representation in various fields of national life will be ensured by developing the socio-economic and cultural aspects of the tribal tribes.
Similarly, the special guest of the program, Mohanmaya Dhakal, Mayor of Birendranagar Municipality, said that it is a matter of pride to be the daughter of the Karnali Province Assembly Speaker. He said “Karnali is the origin of Khas language, so it is necessary for everyone to join hands to save the civilization and identity of Karnali.”
The chairman of the program, Ashok Raji, expressed his gratitude to all those who made the program successful, saying that the program will be held in the future including other municipalities of the district.
In the program, various caste organizations presented their identity tableau. The main attraction of the tableau that circled the Birendranagar market was the slow music and Lakhe dance of the Newa community. Vice President Hark Gurung welcomed the event conducted by Federation Secretary Bhim Gurung Khampa.
